CLIENT OVERVIEW

The company is a top-five North American insurer specializing in auto insurance. It provides coverage for more than 24 million motor vehicles to more than 15 million policyholders across all 50 U.S. states and the District of Columbia.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE

To meet its ambitious release timelines and product quality goals, the insurer needed to validate policy data flows faster and more accurately between multiple applications, including sales, services, and billing, . Specifically, the insurer required a fully automated test solution to run rapid regression testing and quickly deliver feedback to the development team, adopt CI/CD (continuous integration and continuous delivery) across their entire application spectrum, and validate all of their applications, ncluding downstream systems.

SOLUTION OFFERED

The insurer selected ValueMomentum as its systems integration partner because of our long-standing track record of success in the insurance sector and deep well of insurance-specific expertise.

The ValueMomentum team developed a number of accelerators, including shared flows across applications as diverse as sales, services, UMB, billing, and policy catalog,to streamline operations and reduce UAT (user acceptance testing) timelines, and end-to-end regression test cases to execute during release testing to drive speed.

The team also conducted regular application health checks to ensure that services were live and running properly while implementing a variety of regression requests during the final stages of the project.

The end-to-end testing services had broad coverage, handling test case analysis, test data preparation, automation script development, automation execution and maintenance, test execution, error tracking and defect analysis, and the CI/CD platform.

The tests benefited from greater coverage, less effort, and higher CI/CT pass percentages, which enabled the insurer to reap these quality and expedited timeline rewards.

VALUE DELIVERED

The expansive end-to-end regression testing automation program enabled the insurer to enjoy increased application performance, which in turn drove product quality and speed-to-market.

The tests themselves were enhanced, benefiting from greater coverage, less effort, and higher CI/CT pass percentages, which enabled the insurer to reap these quality and expedited timeline rewards.

Overall, the project furthered the insurer’s data agenda, helping them become more competitive in an increasingly digital economy.
